What it covers

What does the free marketing audit cover?

Six areas, reviewed together, because the thing holding a business back is rarely in just one channel.

Search visibility

Whether you rank for the searches buyers make when they are ready to enquire, or mostly for your own name.

AI visibility

Whether ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews mention you when asked for a provider like you.

Your website

How well it turns visitors into enquiries: speed, clarity, calls to action and the route to getting in touch.

Local presence

Your Google Business Profile, map pack position and reviews, wherever local customers matter.

Paid advertising

If you run Google or social ads, where the spend is working and where it is being wasted.

Competitors

Where the businesses winning your customers are stronger, and where you can realistically overtake them.

Who it is for

Who is the free audit for?

UK SMEs and owner-led businesses, from sole traders to companies turning over several million.

You are spending but unsure what works

Money going into SEO, ads or social, and no clear view of which produces enquiries.

You are paying an agency

You want an independent view of whether the work matches the invoice, and what the results really show.

You are about to invest

You are planning a new website or a bigger budget and want to know where it will pay before you commit.

How it works

How does the free marketing audit work?

Three steps, with no sales pitch at the end of them.

  1. Tell us about your business

Your website and a line on what you would like help with.

    Two minutes of your time.

  2. We review it properly

A senior marketer audits your channels, your website and your competitors.

    A person's judgement, not a tool export.

  3. We walk you through it

A short call to go through what we found and what to fix first.

You keep the findings, with or without us.

What will you receive?

A clear summary of each area, and a plan grouped into three plain categories:

  • Fix now: the issues costing you enquiries today
  • Fix next: improvements that will pay over the next few months
  • Leave for now: things that are fine, or not worth your money yet

If a channel will not pay for itself, we will say so before you spend anything on it.

A real finding

What can a marketing audit actually uncover?

A real example, anonymised, from before Lobo Digital existed. It is the reason we audit the way we do.

A small commercial cleaning company had been paying an agency £2,000 a month for SEO for three to four years, with nothing meaningful to show for it.

Our founder, then the company's marketing assistant, reviewed the work himself. The reports were full of keywords with no commercial relevance, and the pages had no headings at all. He put what was being paid for next to what was on the site, and the owner cancelled the agency the same day.

Fixing the fundamentals took the site from around 40 organic visits a month to over 1,000 within a month, and on to around 10 booked appointments a week.

These results were achieved by Marcus Lobow, some in-house as a senior marketer and some through Lobo Digital.

"I learned SEO on the job because the agency being paid to do it was not delivering. It worked, and it cost me years. You should not have to repeat that to get the same result."

Before you request an audit

Which marketing checks can you run yourself?

Five free checks that take under half an hour. If any of them surprise you, that is a good reason to get a proper audit.

  1. Search Google for your main service plus your town. Where do you appear in the map and the main results, and who is above you?
  2. Ask ChatGPT or Perplexity to recommend a provider like you in your area. Are you mentioned?
  3. Open your website on your phone. How many taps does it take to request a quote or call you?
  4. Check your Google Business Profile. Is the category specific, are your services listed, and have you replied to your reviews?
  5. Look at last month's enquiries. Can you say which channel each one came from, and what it cost?

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the free marketing audit

Is the marketing audit really free?

Yes. A senior marketer reviews your marketing and walks you through what they find on a short call. There is no obligation, and you keep the findings whether or not you work with us.

What does the free marketing audit cover?

Your search visibility, whether AI tools such as ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews mention you, how well your website turns visitors into enquiries, your local presence and reviews, any paid advertising you run, and how you compare with your closest competitors.

How is this different from the free SEO audit?

The marketing audit looks across all your channels and tells you where to focus first. The SEO audit goes deeper into search alone. If you already know SEO is the priority, the SEO audit is the better choice.

Will you tell me if I do not need your help?

Yes. If your marketing is in good shape, or another option suits you better, we will say so. Plenty of owners take the findings and act on them themselves.

What do you need from me?

Your website address and a line on what you would like help with. If you run Google Ads or have Search Console or analytics set up, read-only access lets us go deeper, but it is not required.

How long does the audit take?

We will confirm the timing when we receive your request. We do not rush the review to hit an artificial deadline, because a quick audit that misses the real problem is worth nothing to you.

Do I have to sign up for anything afterwards?

No. If you want help, we will explain the options and the hours involved, using our published pricing. The decision is yours, and nobody will chase you for it.

Who we are

Who is behind Lobo Digital?

A small London agency, on purpose. The person you brief is the person who does the work.
